| 305. Historical Souvenir Spoons
This is a remarkable set of twelve sterling silver souvenir spoons from various historical locations throughout the United States. Such locations include Fort Dearborn, the Liberty Bell, Mount Vernon, North Point, and Sulgrave Manor (George Washington's ancestral home) One particular spoon has an enameled bowl featuring the American Flag and is inscribed "Army/Navy" and is dated June 14, 1909 on verso of the shank. The spoon from Fort Dearborn has the skyline of Chicago carved on the shank. Both spoons from the Liberty Bell depict the monument and are hallmarked American silver. Two Mount Vernon spoons depict the home of George Washington and are hallmarked American silver. A set of three English sterling silver spoons with enamled details at the top of the shank depict Sulgrave Manor. These spoons are hallmarked Sheffield, from the mid to late 1800's. The next spoon depicts the First Baptist Church in Portland and is marked R.W & S. 1899. The last spoon is from Boston and commemorates Old Ironsides. This spoon is marked Geo. E. Homer on verso of the shank. These souvenir spoons would make an excellent addition to any collection. Measure from apprx 6" to 4-1/4".
