| 285. Sterling Silver European Religious Devotionals.
Probably German. Hallmarks on body and base. This is a unique set of two sterling silver religious objects. First object is a two/three-dimensional figure on a ornately carved pedestal. The Saint rises up from a cloud of smoke and holds a cross in one hand and a sword in the other. He has a small container attached to his belt. A small glass oval is attached to his chest. Verso of statue is very simple with three small markings which identify this piece as European silver. Second object is a medallion hanging from a large ornate chain. Chain has three larger links. A laurel wreath connects chain to medallion. The medallion has the Virgin Mary in the center. She is surrounded by tiny silver bells. No visible hallmarks. Chain and medallion measure apprx 11-1/2" x 3-1/4" and statue measures apprx 4-1/2" x 7-1/4". Overall apprx 10 Troy oz. 100/300 Sold $373.75 back to catalog |
