178. Hamilton King (American 1871 - 1952)

Pastel on grey paper of a playful woman wearing long evening gloves, circa early 1900's. Signed lower right "Hamilton King" and "Paris". Framed, overall size apprx 23" x 21-1/2". King was an illustrator, painter, and etcher who studied at the Julian Academy in Paris and was a member of the Society of Illustrators. He was a noted illustrator of women, producing many commissioned images for advertisments such as Coca Cola and ladies journals.
