| 362. An English Brass Fireman's Helmet, c.1875-1925
A brass helmet with visor and neck gaurd, chin strap and ornate scrolled top. Forward emblem depicts crossed hatchets and two horses. Apprx 8"W x 11-1/2"D x 10-1/2"H. This brass helmet was first worn by firemen in the volunteer fire brigade in Wrexham, England, formed in 1863. They had two horse-drawn fire engines and in 1894 they built a fire station on the old Guildhall Square off Chester Street. 200/400 Sold $379.50 back to catalog |
