247. International "Royal Danish" Sterling Silver Flatware, C. 1939

International Silver was incorporated in 1898 by a number of independent silversmiths whose family backgrounds began in early colonial times. It has become one of the world's largest maufacturers of silverware with a quality of silver that is world renowned. This is an impressive set of sterling silver flatware from the International Silver company. Introduced in 1939, the Royal Danish pattern is based on the traditional designs of Scandanavia. Fluted columns accent the handles.

This set includes fourteen 10" dinner knives, sixteen 9" lunch knives, one 7" fruit knife and nineteen 6" butter knives. All knives have stainless steel blades. Also includes twenty eight 6" teaspoons, sixteen 4" demitasse spoons, two 7-1/4" fish serving knives, two 7" gravy ladles, six 8-1/2" serving spoons, fourteen 7-1/2" iced tea spoons, fourteen 6-3/4" bouillion spoons, four 6" oval soup spoons, one 6-1/2" cranberry server, one 5-1/2" cream ladle, nine 5-1/2" ice cream forks, one 4-3/4" flat tomato server, one 6" sugar spoon, twelve 6" grapefruit spoons, one 6-1/2" serving spoon, fourteen 8" dinner forks, sixteen 6-1/4" place forks, one 6" cocktail fork, five 4-3/4" strawberry forks, twelve 6" fish forks, one set of 4-1/4" ice tongs, two 6-1/2" cheese servers, one 10-1/2" cake/pie server and fourteen 6-1/2" salad forks. All pieces are hallmarked International silver, Royal Danish on verso of shanks. Weighs apprx 327.5 Troy oz.
