253. International "Prelude" Sterling Silver Service for Eight, C. 1939

International Silver was incorporated in 1898 by a number of independent silversmiths whose family backgrounds began in early colonial times. It has become one of the world's largest maufacturers of silverware with a quality of silver that is world renowned. The Prelude design by International Silver contrasts deeply carved floral ornementation with sleek and simple lines. Patented in 1939, this set of flatware includes; eight 7-1/2" iced tea spoons, eight 6-1/2" salad forks, ten 6" teaspoons, eight 7-1/2" dinner forks, eight 9-1/4" dinner knives with stainless steel blades, one 8-1/2" serving spoon, one 5-7/8" sugar spoon, one 8-1/2" salad serving fork, one 7-1/4" fish knife and one 6-1/2" bouillion soup spoon. Overall weight is apprx 64.9 Troy oz.
