This flatware service, in the Bamboo pattern by Towle features twelve 8" dinner forks, twelve apprx 7-1/4" place spoons, twelve 7" luncheon forks, twelve apprx 9" dinner knives with stainless steel blades, twelve apprx 7" luncheon knives with stainless steel blades, twelve apprx 6-1/4" teaspoons, one apprx 6-3/4" cream ladle, one apprx 9" serving spoon, one apprx 9" carving fork and one apprx 7-1/4" butter knife. Seventy-six pieces total, weighing apprx 134 Troy oz. Each piece is stamped "Towle Sterling."

A sterling silver wine taster, possibly French, features a twisted snake loop which allows this piece to be worn around the neck. Made in a modernist Egyptian revival theme. Sterling hallmark of man facing right is located on the snake-handle. Overall measures apprx 3" x 4". Apprx 1.8 Troy oz.

Includes brown felt and satin lined #4990 chest. Total of 96 pieces. Weighs apprx 121.3 Troy oz.

220. European Sterling Silver Flatware, C. 19th Century


Set of hallmarked European silver includes two apprx 9" serving spoons hallmarked with a fleur-de-lis and the number 84. This set also includes one apprx 8-1/2" place spoon with identical hallmark, and stamped "Szekman" on the shank of the spoon, two apprx 8" place forks that are stamped 84, O.C. 1871, Wernerisa" on the handles, one apprx 7-1/2" dinner fork that is stamped 875 on the handle, four apprx 5-1/2" teaspoons hallmarked Chester, early 1800's and engraved with the initials H.J.W, five apprx 5" demitasse spoons, hallmarked English silver, from apprx mid 19th century. The tip of the handle on these spoons features a small rattail on each.

Set of sterling silver flatware consisting of eight apprx 9-3/4" dinner knives, eight apprx 8-1/2" dinner forks, six apprx 4-1/2" demitasse spoons, three apprx 8-1/2" serving spoons, one apprx 11-1/2" ladle, one apprx 8-1/2" cream ladle and one apprx 11-1/2" steak knife, for a total of 27 pieces. Each piece is stamped with the head of Diana in a clover-shaped cartouche. This mark is possibly a Hungarian hallmark. Each piece is also stamped with the letters AB. The knife blades have been newly replaced and are marked with the name "Eichenlaub" which is a German company that is well-known for its hunting blades. All pieces have a very simple design with little ornementation. Overall weight is apprx 63.8 Troy oz.

The first plate produced by Lincoln Mint is called "Easter Christ", 1972. Verso stamped with title, maker, sterling and number 9142. Apprx 9"D. The second plate is "Dionysis Et Pallas Athena", stamped with date, maker, sterling and numbers 2144. Apprx 8"D. The Lincoln Mint produced 10,000 of these in silver and 10,000 in gold over silver. Weighs apprx 19.4 Troy oz.

This sterling silver dresser set consists of a bristle brush engraved with the initial "M" Brush is hallmarked American silver near the bristles. Measures apprx 10" x 3." Set also consists of matching comb with plastic tortise shell teeth, nail file and hand mirror. Mirror measures apprx 13" x 4", comb measures apprx 7-1/2" x 4-1/2" and nail file measures apprx 7-3/4." All pieces feature a linear design accented by small fleurs-de-lis.

Blown cobalt bowl is encased by silver overlay in a medieval scroll pattern. Teardrop shaped glass bulbs protrude from silver casing. Pointed arch design is located on verso. No visible markings to indicate maker. The glass has been blown into the silver bowl. Measures apprx 4-1/4" x 6-3/4."

A round silver dish with a lovely floral boarder in relief. It is verso stamped International Sterling, prelude and B179. It is apprx 1-1/2" high x 6" diam. and weighs apprx 3.1 Troy oz. An American Silver Bowl with a nice floral boarder in relief. It is stamped on verso with a circled star, an R in a crest flanked by a bird and a lion, Sterling, X497 and 10 in. It is apprx 2-1/4" h x 10" diam. and weighs apprx 10.2 Troy oz. A small square Mexican sterling dish measuring apprx 1" x 6" x 6". It is stamped RM, D.F. 925, Hecho en Mexico and weighs apprx 6.5 Troy oz.
