596. Another Grouping Of 19th Century Images
Set of five ambrotypes depicting various young adults from the mid-19th century. Three small ambrotypes depict young men while the remaining two depict young women. In particular one photograph has a slip of paper with a date of June 29, 1861 as well as the name of the photographer who took the picture. Images range in size from apprx 2-1/2" x 2" to 3-1/2" x 3". Each is framed with a decorative gold foil mat and embossed cases with foliate designs.

Each daguerrotype is framed with a decorative gold foil mat and encased in a wood or leather frame. Exterior of frames are embossed with vines and foliate designs. Three photographs include one daguerrotype of a middle-aged man, one ambrotype of Dr. Robert Fried, and one pair of ambrotypes depicting a mother and her son. Daguerroype is unmarked, however the ambrotypes have labels for identification. Each photograph is apprx 4-1/2" x 3". Each image is framed with a decorative gold foil mat and encased in an embossed case with vines, and various flowers.

Two ambrotypes, dated c. 1860 depict a young girl about 13 or 14 years old. In one image she is posed with her mother. In the second image she is posed with a young man, most likely her brother. This item would have belonged to the girl in the photograph. Images are matted with a decorative gold foil mat and wooden case is embossed with vines, swirls and various flowers. Measures apprx 4" x 3-1/2."

This lot of family photographs includes an image of an old woman, a middle-aged woman in a bonnet and a young man with a hat. These photographs have decorative foil mats and embellished leather cases. The remaining photographs include an image of a middle-aged man sitting on a flight of stairs, an older, bearded gentleman, two handsome young brothers, a younger man with a beard and moustache, two young men with rifles, a young man with a long beard, a photograph identifed as Dr. Chandler, a young boy, a teenaged girl and one image in particular two young soldiers. 604. Photograph from the Tri-State-Round-Up
Black and white panoramic photograph from the Tri-State Round Up in Belle Fourche, South Dakota. The photograph is dated July 4-6, 1927 and was taken by the O'Neill Photo Company in O'Neill, Nebraska. The Tri-State Round Up was one of the largest rodeos in the American West. Held in Black Hills, this rodeo had been held each July for over 80 years. Archival mounting and frame, apprx 14-1/2" x 50-3/4".
