Classical bronze figure of a woman dressed in a Roman robe. She holds an ornate mirror in one hand and an urn in the other. Mirror is accented with a ribbon-like border and two sconces for candles. The figure is attached to an alabaster base. It is unsigned and measures apprx 27" x 7-1/2".

This bronze lamp features cherub feet and is attached to square-shaped bronze base. Stem of lamp features ornate palm leaf design with two arms extending from the stem topped by two glass sconces with an etched floral design. Hardware on the arms of the lamp is marked Clark & Coit, N.York. Top of the lamp is accented with a floral bud. Plug fits American wall sockets. Clark & Coit is likely to be the foundry where the bronze was cast. Overall measures apprx 18-1/2"x 14".

Bronze statuette of a nude female figure in motion. Her sash soars behind her and she carries a torch in her hand. Figure is unsigned and has a warm deep green, almost black patina. Figure is attached to a black marble base. Overall measures apprx 10" x 3".

Another bronze reclining nude. This contemporary figure sits in a draped armchair and appears to be looking at her upraised hand. Figure is attached to a deep brown marble base. Signed H. Keck on back of chair. Overall measures apprx 8" x 7".

Reclining classical nude sits atop a lioness. This figure clutches a garment in one hand. The lioness looks out towards the viewer with her mouth open in mid-roar. The nude rests her elbow on the lionesses head. Bronze is attached to a black marble base. Bronze has lovely golden brown patina. It measures apprx 8-1/2" h and the base is 8-1/4" x 5-1/2".

Bronze figure of a man posed in thought, dated apprx 1890. He sits on a four-legged stool with one hand up to his cheek, a thoughtful expression on his face. He wears a classical Roman garment and props his feet up on a trunk. Much attention has been paid to the details in the man's face as well as his garments. A rounded panel painting sits beneath the chair and he rests his right arm on a scroll. It is originally from a clock. Bronze has greenish-brown patina. Unsigned, this piece measures apprx 9" x 5".

Bronze sculptural figure of a classical woman, entitled "Grecian Lady on a Bench". She sits cross-legged and wears a traditional Roman robe. In one hand she holds a basket of flowers. The stool she sits upon is accented by shell motifs. Signed "L. Tilet" on seat beneath the basket of flowers. Bronze has lovely green-brown patina. Originally from a clock. Overall measures apprx 9-1/2" x 10".

Antoine Bofill (early 20th Century)

253. Antoine Bofill (early 20th Century)


A diminutive gilt bronze sculpture of a young child wrapped in a hooded cloak. The carved ivory face is quite detailed. It is inscribed "Bofill" on the base. Antoine Bofill was born in Barcelona in the late 19th Century. He flourished in the early 20th century, specializing in small figures and groups. Bofill was a student at the Academy of Beaux Arts in Barcelona and exhibited at the Salon of the Society des Artistes Francais from 1901 to the 1920's. This figure measures apprx 7" and stands on a 2-3/4" square base.

Bronze sculpture features two women sitting atop a rock. This piece is entitled "Sisters on a Hill" and is dated c. 1900. Women are wearing 18th Century style gowns. Much attention has been paid to the details on the costumes and in the faces of the women. One woman appears to be comforting the other. Figures are attached to a green marble base. Signed Murat on verso. Bronze has a greenish-gold color. Overall apprx 7" x 7".
