White poppy flowers, leaves and grasses over a reverse peachblow with acid finish over ivory case glass. The rare reverse peachblow is red grapefruit color at bottom to an almost amber peach at top. White cameo band at base and at rim. Purchased from Opal Sallee Antiques in Kokomo, IN. Apprx 6"H x 2-1/8" base x 3-1/2" at shoulder, 2-1/2" rim.

Lusterless candy striped bowl with pink and yellow over a ivory case glass. Rim turns inward and has a ruffled edge. Ground pontil, apprx 2-1/2"H x 3-5/8" at widest point x 2-1/2" opening. Unmarked.

302. Victorian Cut Velvet Vase


Mauve colored diamond quilting over white casing. Ruffled and flared opening. Pontil not polished, small flakes in glass near pontil. Apprx 6-1/4"T x 3" at widest point. Glass is blown into a mold to create a raised surface design. Cut velvet was made by both American and European companies during the Victorian era and none were marked, so attribution is difficult.

Gold decorated vase with flowers on branch. Very dark brown at neck and top shading to cream at bottom, cased in off white. Pontil very well ground and finished. It measures apprx 5"H x 4"W at shoulders, 2" rim.

A butterscotch color, teardrop shaped vase of mother of pearl satin glass. The top is flared with a long thin neck ending in a bulbous base. The decorations are four raised or padded pink and white flowers with gold and brown centers, connected by green leaves. There are some markings on the bottom. Apprx 7-1/2" x 1-3/4" at the opening and 5" at the widest.

Heavy white case glass bowl, squat on footed base with flared rim, with pink interior and yellow glass ruffled rim. White exterior body is hand decorated in orange-gold ferns, five petal flowers and small tulips. Ground pontil is signed by painter "S141 2166". Apprx 3-1/2"H x 3" base x 4" girth x 4-1/4" rim.

Diamond quilted with applied amber quatrefoil "wishbone" at rim with loop handles. Large diamond pattern with strong red color at top running to amber/yellow at bottom. Ground pontil, apprx 4-1/2" to handle x 5" at girth x 5-3/4"rim from handle to handle x apprx 3-3/4" wide at rim. It was item 49 in the Early Auction, from the Frances Morgan collection of art glass. It is listed and pictured in the catalogue, 10/14/72.

Baby quilted diamond shaped pattern over a barrel or ovoid shaped body, with slightly flaring rim. Well polished pontil. This was purchased at the Early auction of June, 1972, offered as lot 85. Apprx 2-5/8"H x 1-1/4" base, 1-6/8" rim.
