429. Miscellaneous Collection of Royal Doulton Character Mugs
This set of Royal Doulton character mugs include Winston Churchill, who measures apprx 5" x 9" Churchill wears a black bowler hat and brown trenchcoat. The second mug in this collection is Jolly Toby, who measures apprx 4" x 6" Toby is a portly man who clutches a frothy mug in one hand. The last two pieces in this set are from the Doultonville collection. The miner wears a helmet with flashlight and blue necktie. He is dated 1985. The golfer sports a yellow sweater and green cap. He is also dated 1985. These figures measure apprx 2-1/2" x 4" Each piece is stamped with the Royal Doulton hallmark.

430. Large Royal Doulton Character Mugs
This set of four Royal Doulton toby mugs include the characters The Pearly King, the Beefeater, Othello and the Elephant Trainer. The Pearly King features a polka dot scarf and handle made from buttons and bells. He is dated 1986 and stamped with the signature of Stanley James Taylor. The Beefeater sports a ruffled lace collar and top hat. He is dated 1946. Othello is from the Shakespearean collection. He wears a yellow turban and has a gold earring in his left ear. Othello is dated 1982. The Elephant Trainer is unique in that he was created to commemorate the anniversary of the opening of the Royal Doulton rooms in the United States. This particular mug has been signed in gold on verso of the base, and dated 1989. He also comes with a certificate of authenticity. The Elephant Trainer features a red turban with a jewel in the center. The handle is made from an elephant head and trunk. Each piece is stamped with the Royal Doulton hallmark and each features a serial number. Apprx size of each mug is 5-1/2" x 9-1/2".

431. Four Large Royal Doulton Character Mugs
This set of four large Royal Doulton toby mugs includes the Golfer, Falstaff and two mugs from the Antagonist's Collection. These mugs feature George Armstrong Custer with Sitting Bull and Ulysses S. Grant with Robert E. Lee. Falstaff is a character from Shakespeare's "The Merry Wives of Windsor." He wears a pink cloak and black hat. He is dated 1946 on verso of base. The Golfer wears a brown wool sweater and has a golf bag for handle. He is dated 1970. The jugs from the Antagonist's collection are unique in that each one is two faces. Sitting Bull is ornamented with feathers and Native American beadwork. George Armstrong Custer has long blonde hair and a navy blue hat. This is a limited edition piece and is numbered 6040/9500. It is dated 1983. The second piece from the Antagonist's collection features the two different sides from the Civil War. Lee is on the Confederate side and Grant on the Union side. Numbered 7686/9500 this piece is dated 1982. Each jug is stamped with the Royal Doulton hallmark and measures apprx 6" x 8".

432. Six Royal Doulton Miniature Character Mugs.
This collection of miniature character mugs includes Anne Boleyn, Catherine Parr, the London Bobby, Robin Hood, the Golfer and the Sleuth. Each mug is intricately detailed. All appear to be in good condition with the exception of a small chip on verso of the sleuth. Anne Boleyn is stamped on verso with the date 1975, the Royal Doulton hallmark and serial number D6651. Catherine Parr is stamped on verso with the date 1980, and serial number D6752. The London Bobby is stamped with the date 1985 and serial number D6763 as well as marked with a hand painted number 35. Robin hood is dated 1959 and has serial number D6541. The Golfer is dated 1970 and has the serial number D6757. The Sleuth is dated 1972 and has serial number D6639. Each mug measures apprx 2-1/2" x 3-1/2".
