226. Another Lot of Sterling Silver Serving Dishes


A lovely silver dish, believed to be American, with pinched edges and a thin striped boarder in relief with a the profile of a lion engraved in the center. It stands on four ball and claw type feet and is verso stamped with three marks in a shield including a lion standing, two crossed keys and the letter P. It is appx. 1-1/2" h x 6" square and weighs appx. 11.1 Troy oz. An oval shaped silver platter with scalloped edges and banded boarder marked Sterling and Durham on verso. It is apprx 1" high x 19-1/2 long x 14-1/2 wide and weighs apprx 52.4 Troy oz. A lovely silver dish with scalloped edges and engraved handles. It is verso stamped Sanborns Sterling, Made in Mexico. It is apprx 1" high x 13-1/4" x 8-1/4" and weights apprx 17.2 Troy oz.

Proceeds from the sale of this item will be donated to the Lyric Opera, Cleveland. Sterling silver container with lid is accented by an enamled mosaic in shades of peacock blue, green and purple. Yellow enameled spiral located on verso. Unsigned, this piece measures apprx 5" x 4". Doris Hall was married to Kalman Kubinyi, a well known Cleveland enamel artist.

Proceeds for the sale of this item will be donated to the Lyric Opera, Cleveland. A set of six sterling silver cordials have tapered stems. Stamped sterling on verso. Below is marked "cement weighted" or "cement reinforced." Initials etched into cordials are "M.L.F." This lot also includes eight small liners marked with the letter T. Each liner is stamped "Sterling" on the edge. Cordials measure apprx 3-1/4" x 1-1/2." Liners measure apprx 2-3/4."

Proceeds from the sale of this item will be donated to the Lyric Opera, Cleveland. A pair of Kirk sterling silver candlesticks. Marked "S.Kirk & Son Co." on verso and stamped with the number 925/1000. These candlesticks have a simple design and measure apprx 8"x 4." This lot is also comprised of two small sterling silver serving dishes. One oval-shaped dish features a simple cut out pattern of rectangles and is stamped Sterling on verso. Measures apprx 4" x 7." Second sterling silver plate is circular-shaped and features a oval cut-away design. The intials "H.B.S" have been etched into the bowl. Marked sterling on verso. This piece measures apprx 6" in diameter. Overall weight is 26.7 Troy oz.

Sold and marked by the Harrison Bros & Howson. Sheffield, England. In original lined case with chartreuse velvet exterior. Set includes six mother-of-pearl handled knives with silver blades stamped "HB&HS", each apprx 7-3/4" long, closed case apprx 7" x 9" x 1-3/4".

Proceeds from the sale of this item will be donated to the Lyric Opera, Cleveland. Silver plated tea service includes coffee pot, tea pot, sugar and creamer. Coffee pot has hinged lid and feather designs. Finial has been cast to resemble a flower bud. Marked Sheridan Silver Plate on verso. Overall measures apprx 12" x 10." Tea pot has identical design and measures apprx 10" x 10." Matching creamer measures apprx 5" x 5." Sugar has removable lid with flower bud finial. Overall measures apprx 6-1/4" x 6-1/2." Large silver plated serving bowl has scalloped edges and a pedestal base. Interior of bowl resembles a flower bud. Etched "Dublin K40" on verso, as well as with the name "Fisher." Measures apprx 5" x 10." Front of bowl is etched with the intials "R.E.H." Silver plate pitcher features an angled handle attached to an elongated pitcher accented with scroll designs. The letter "E" has been etched into the front of the pitcher. Verso stamped "Reed & Barton, 5100." Reed & Barton is a Massachusettes based company specializing in silverplate. Overall this piece measures apprx 9-1/2" x 8." Covered dish features a lovely leaf pattern accented with animal paw feet. Small cut-out in lid allows for a spoon to be kept in the dish. Verso stamped with two swords. Overall measures apprx 7" x 10-1/2." Silver plated serving tray features an etched design of swirling vines and acanthus leaves. The initials H.G.H appear in the center of the tray. Stamped EPNS in block lettering on verso. Measures apprx 26-1/2" x 16-1/2."

Ornately cast silver-plated candelabra features a curling acanthus leaf design accented by flower petals and scalloped edges. Candelabra has three sections where candles can be placed. Measures apprx 21-1/2" x 19". Marked on verso Elkington Plate.

234. Mother-of-Pearl Handled Knives


Set of six 5-1/2" dessert knives with mother-of-pearl handles and steel blades. Blades are stamped with an unidentified hallmark. Knives come with a red felt case labeled "The Cowell & Hubbard Co. Jewelers, Cleveland, OH." The Cowell & Hubbard Co. Jewelers were established in Cleveland in 1873, and is still in operation.
