183. Guy Manning (American, 1936-)

This particular image by Guy Manning is entitled "Sentinel" and features a Indian warrior crouched against a rocky background, holding a rifle. This is a stone lithograph. Framed, it measures apprx 24-3/4" x 35-1/2". This piece comes with a signed certificate of authenticity. Signed in lower right and numbered in lower left corner 107/150. Archival mat and frame, walnut veneer with blond wood inlay.

Born in Philadelphia, Manning grew up in Pennsylvania but later moved to the East Coast. Manning states "Colors are our musical notes, and they are personal. I'm not concious of my color sense, but I hope it has evolved into something that people can see and understand." Manning's lithographs are characteristically bright and feature bold coloring.
