Boy Playing Wood Flute. This painting depicts a young boy in a green and brown garment playing a simple wooden flute. The background is a dark navy blue, almost black color. He wears a Spanish-style white hat on his head. Tag on verso on the painting identifies the title of the painting, and says that it is from an anonymous Ecuadorian painter from the the late half of the 19th century. The material is oil on gessoed cotton in a 20th century gilded frame. Framed, it measures apprx 36 x 26cm. A second tag on verso of the frame states "This art work has been carefully conserved at the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art Laboratory, 1975."
