| 6. Roman/Mesopotamian Terracotta Seals C. 1st/2nd Century A.D.
This group of nineteen seals were used on papyrus Temple documents. They have various motifs and are made of red and/or black clay, many with striations on the back showing the fibers of the papyrus. Lot includes nine human profiles, three seated figures with wonderful draping of robes, a Victory Angel Nike with wings, another standing figure, possibly Pax, a segmented bug, three with two facing persons and one with two standing persons with detailed torsos and clothing.
