| 237. Jean Jaques Pradier (Swiss, 1790-1852)
Neoclassical bronze candleabrum features two figures wearing laurel leaf crowns. Ladies are attached to a square-shaped marble base adorned with two medallions depicting greek gods. Figures have a muted gold patina. Candelabrum holding six candles are attached to figures hand. Top is adorned with a fruit cornicopia. Signed Pradier on front. Pradier was a well known Swiss sculptor who exhibited several times in the Salons of Paris. Measures apprx 29" x 7". This piece was cast at the Suisse Fres foundry, which was established in 1840. 2,000/4,000 Sold $1,495.00 back to catalog |
