"Belle Epoque Woman". Bronze with a dark brown patina of a seated woman, removing her gloves and laughing, c. 1900. Inscribed "George van der Straeten, Paris" in base. Apprx 19-1/2" tall. Van der Straeten, a contemporary of Villanis, was born in Gand, Belgium and is known for his sculptures of charming young girls.
