A fabulous hand hammered arts and crafts style fire guard of two andirons with curved brackets at the bottom that support a wrought iron rod holding a ring. The andirons also have rings in the center and end in four upturned basket type decorations at the top. Measure apprx 39-1/4" x 46-1/2" x 27".

200. Carl Kauba (Austrian 1865-1922)
A marble bookend (1) with a bronze Indian portrait, signed "C. Kauba" on collar. Great detail to feathers and wrinkled skin. Apprx 7-1/2"T x 7"W x 3-1/2"D. Kauba was born and lived in Vienna, Austria. He never visited America but was inspired by the romantic American West writings of German author Carl May and by photos sent to him by a friend in Ohio, who also sent him Indian artifacts and cowboy related items.

Charming pair of brass candlesticks in a flowering branch design. Stem is accented by tiny porcelain flower buds. Center of flowers are adorned with paste stones. Spray of flowers at base is also accented with several paste gemstones. Stamped "Made in France" on base. Candleholder is designed to resemble flower petals. Both candlesticks are loosely attached to base. Measures apprx 9" x 6."

20th century Italian export heads of a male and female are copies of the Etruscan or Umbrian style of carving. The originals would have been purchased by a wealthy individual on a Grand Tour of Europe. These are newer with primitive carvings, apprx 11"T.

204. A Pair of Hand Painted Fans, C. 19th Century
Both fans are printed and then hand painted, set on ivory reticulated frames, detailed in gold. The first fan depicts a scene with women and a chariot, bordered by flowers and gilt scrolls. This fan appears to be backed with vellum or buckram, with verso painted with flowers. The scene is numbered "B.V.1088". The second fan is titled "Entree De L'Imperatrice Mathilde A Winchester" and appears to be backed with paper and stenciled with gilt court scene. Both apprx 20" open x 10-1/2"H.

Both fans are c. 19th century and are made of a sheer fabric and placed on carved and pierced ivory frames. The first fan is decorated with sequines in a bow design, overall apprx 14-1/2"open x 12"T. The second fan is finely painted with a flowering branch in colours of yellow, white and pink. Open, it is apprx 24" x 13"T.

This late 19th century tea caddy has two interior compartments with lids. The interior of large lid has a green velvet lining. A brass handle is attached to lid for transport, however caddy does not lock. The wood has a beautiful warm glow and soft finish to the touch. Apprx 5"T x 9"L x 5"W.

207. Art Nouveau Candlesticks
Gold wash over silver art nouveau/transitional candlesticks have delicate stems and curvalinear bases. Each stem has a leaf accent. Wound around the tip of the stem are turquoise stones. Flower shaped candle holders have a small spike inside. Base is marked "Made in Israel, 925." Also marked on base are a set of unidentifiable initials inside an oval cartouche. Measures apprx 7" x 4".
