Signed with an acid etched marks, this pair of Hawkes cut crystal is finely cut with a starburst pattern. The sugar bowl, apprx 2-1/2"T x 3-1/2"W, has a notched rim and the creamer, apprx 4"T, has a wheel cut rim and handle.

Flashed ruby red glass is combined with clear glass to make this wonderful drinking cup which has a hand painted German inscription around the base in white paint, "Der Glaube lebt, Die Taube Schwebt, Enthullet den Gral!". Polished base shows signs of wear consistant with age, polished rim as well. Apprx 9-3/4"T.

A pair of Foval cups and saucers in "translucent pearl" glass. Aluminum oxide was added to the glass to produce a blue opalescence. Blue and green glass handles applied to mold blown and fire polished glass. They have a similar quality to Steuben. The pontil have been polished out and they are unmarked as far as an etched or engraved mark. Cups apprx 2-1/4"T x 3-1/2"W, saucers apprx 5-1/2"D.

254. Verrerie de Sevres Biscuit Barrel, 19th Century


During 1870 the marquise de Pompadour acquired a glassworks which was known as the Verrerie de Sèvres which was under the royal patronage granted by the King to Madame de Pompadour. The glassworks then changed the name to Cristallerie de Sèvres (1870-1885). This clear glass biscuit barrel has art nouveau style etched irises. Verso of barrel has the gold Verrerie de Sevres logo, a letter V, an image of a ship and the letter S. Upper rim of this piece is trimmed in brass. Lid is brass repousse. Lid has an attached handle resembling daisies. Measures apprx 10" x 5".

This lovely Baccarat vase is based on an antique Chinese porcelain design. It is a square panel design, rising from a square plinth with bombe flair, tapering to a narrower flute. It is acid trade marked on the base of the plinth and etched "Baccarat" and "Paris" in script on the plinth. It measures apprx 10" h x 3-3/4" at its widest point. It retains its original box.

This unmarked lobed bowl is banded in mercury gilding and acid-etched on its underside in floral arabesques. The comport sits on a stem consisting of a flattened ball with a paneled flute rising out of an etched circular plinth lightly banded in gold. The floral motifs are lightly highlighted in mercury gilding. It dates apprx the first half of the 19th century and is French, possibly Clichy. It is apprx 6-1/2"h x 9-1/2" diam.

Octagon-shaped green tinted clear glass window from a sailing vessel, purchased as an architectural element. This window has been etched with the image of Diana, the goddess of the hunt. Unsigned and unmarked. Overall measures apprx 10" x 11". Glass is very heavy and solid.

Murano glass figurine of a flamenco dancer. The male dancer wears brilliant red breeches and a black bolero. His shirt has extravagant clear ruffles on the neck and sleeves. A matching sash is tied around his waist. The dancer also wears a red hat. He is attached to a circular black base. Sticker on front reads "Made in Murano." Pontil is not ground and is somewhat sharp. Overall measures apprx 17" tall, 6" wide.

A lovely vase ranging from brown at the bottom to to yellow at the top also with red. Along the bottom is a lake scene including a house and trees and mountains in the background. The lake is etched, allowing the yellow background to show through. It is signed "Degue", French artist David Gueron. Along the top is a stylized boarder with a tree branch stemming from it's central point. It is apprx 5-1/2" H x 3-1/4" at girth.

A small glass vase with a lovely ruffled star shaped opening. Vase is deep yellow at the bulbous base, ranging to lighter yellow at the top overlaid on amber glass on the interior. It has a well ground pontil and measures apprx 4" H x 4" at the opening.
