An Isfahan Gallery Carpet, Early 20th Century The rose colored field has been woven with a delicate central floral motif symmetrically bordered by similar floral designs in shades of rose, navy blue, powder blue, sage green and ivory. Rug has a thin, solid rose band on the outermost edge followed by two thinner bands, a thick navy band with floral designs and finally two thin borders. 351. Kazak Carpet, 20th Century This carpet has the distinct geometric designs, which is of the Caucasus mountain region. Main colors include cranberry red, three shades of blue, orange and ivory. Geometric stars, flowers and four birds are within a stylized border of alternating stars. The warp and weft threads are brown wool. Original Kilim ends. Qashghai Shiraz, C. 20th Century The Qashghai design is called Hebatlu, which consists of a centerpiece and a shape of the same or smaller size identical to the centerpiece in each corner of the rug. Usually the centerpiece and the identical shapes are woven in white, as with this carpet. Colors include deep reds and blues, ochre, yellow, green and white. The carpet is decorated with "Gabbeh", small geometric caricature-like animals, birds and human figures which are sparsely placed on the field. The pile on the rug is clipped very high.
