313. Royal Worcester Biscuit Jar, C. 1876-1891

The Royal Worcester mark is accompanied by the traditional incised crescent "C" and the makers initials "H.S.". Painted into the firing is the letter .x.3., which would indicate that this was a three piece set. The body is fluted and tapering. The design is somewhat oriental in nature as the floral painting is likened to Satsuma. Apprx 5-1/2"H x 6" at shoulder.

100/150 Sold: $69.00

Aside from impressed marks and one or two glazing flaws, the only printed mark is a rather crude crescent mark in blue on verso, which might be a decorator's mark or an obscure manufacturer's mark. Also on verso is an impressed number "12"; a size mark.
