221. Charles Valton (French 1851-1918)
Wounded tiger, bronze, signed "C. Valton" on bronze base. Valton studied under Antoine Louis Barye and Emmanuel Fremiet. In 1906 Valton received the Cross of the Legion d'Honneur. He is best known for his sculptures of the large cats. Apprx 11" x 18".

222. Bronze Wolf, Early/Mid 20th Century
Bronze sculpture of a wolf, inscribed "BAYRE" on base. This piece depicts a savage wolf after the kill. A carcass lies on the ground near his hindquarters. Wolf is in a walking position with his tail wagging behind. Overall measures apprx 10" x 15". Bronze has a lovely warm patina with hints of shiny bronze beneath.

A Mother and pup bronze with a removable closure on back for inscense insertion. When burning inscense, smoke exits the mounth. Seated with one paw raised, the mother plays with pup who is raised on two legs and resting on mothers' raised paw. Warm brown patina throughout with losses. Overall apprx 10"H x 11"L x 9"D.
