"Two Figures under the Moonlight". Oil on paper, signed in pencil lower left, dated 1993. Barbara Olsen, a contemporary American artist, is most well-known for her work as a children's book illustrator as well as her naive folk art. Olsen claims her inspiration came from an exhibit of American quilts at the Oakland Museum in the mid-1970's. The white border is accented by red, green, blue and yellow polka dots. The interior scene shows two figures surrounded by hearts and swirls. A crescent moon looms overhead. Image measures apprx 21" x 26".
