C. Late 18th to early 19th century Japanese Katani bowl is made from glazed porcelain under glass. Blue medallion in center of bowl depicts a bearded dragon. A lotus and foliage pattern adorns the upper rim. Hand-painted gold cranes, dragons and clouds accent a second register of orange-red glaze. Signed with Japanese characters in blue glaze on verso of bowl. Exterior of bowl is ornamented with blue and orange-red floral designs.
