| 29. Classical Scene On A Copper Bowl, C. Late 18th/Early 19th Century
Possibly French, hand painted enamels on a copper bowl. Seated, she playfully defends herself from his arrow. Overall painted in a warm gray enamel and highlighted with gold. Figures and clothing in pink, blue and white. Wonderful facial detailing and rendering of robes. Set into a custom frame of red velvet (which is very worn) and wood of carved open work. Verso of bowl also painted in warm grey enamel. No visible markings or signature. Bowl apprx 6-1/2"D, overall with frame apprx 12" squared. 800/1,200 Sold $546.25 back to catalog |
