| 256. An Etched Crystal Coup-Shaped Comport, French, possibly Clichy, C. Early 19th Century
This unmarked lobed bowl is banded in mercury gilding and acid-etched on its underside in floral arabesques. The comport sits on a stem consisting of a flattened ball with a paneled flute rising out of an etched circular plinth lightly banded in gold. The floral motifs are lightly highlighted in mercury gilding. It dates apprx the first half of the 19th century and is French, possibly Clichy.
