| 162. John Sokol (American, b. 1947)
"Queen/King". Woodblock on Japon paper, artist proof 5, signed lower right and dated '94. Apprx 21-1/2" x 17", two blind stamps at lower left. Matted, unframed apprx 25" x 20". Born in Canton, Ohio, Sokol's work is in the permanent collections of the Akron Art Museum and the Canton Art Museum. He received his Masters Degree from Kent State University (1973) in Painting and Sculpture. John then began writing and publishing short stories and poetry, such as "Kissing the Bees" (Redgreene Press, Pittsburgh, PA, 1999), "A Thousand Years from Nowhere" (Pudding House Publications, Johnstown, OH, 2002) and "In the Summer of Cancer" (Endymion Press, Los Angeles, 2003). 200/400 Sold $149.50 back to catalog |
