| 168. A Lovely Inlaid Side Table, Wurttemberg (Probably Stuttgart), circa 1820
A beautifully inlaid cherry table with a basket of fruit, flowers and leaves in the center. The basket of flowers and fruit is inlaid on a maple background with various woods, including fir and spruce and is boardered by a cherry rim. It has one central blind drawer and stands on narrow curved legs. In the drawer is an old inventory card, with information in French. It indicates that this marquetry was most likey in the style of the queen Charlotte Mathilde de Werttemburg (1766-1828). Measures apprx 28-1/4" x 24-3/4" x 18-1/4". 10,000/12,000 back to catalog |
