Etching by Icart depicts a lovely young lady dressed in a semi-revealing costume. She glances to the side and smiles mischiviously. In her hands is a small book or a journal. Signed "Louis Icart" in lower right corner. Number 57. Image measures apprx 18" x 14". Overall framed this piece measures apprx 19" x 24". Louis Justin Laurent Icart was born in Toulouse, France in 1890 and died in Paris in 1950. By the late 1920's Icart was very successful with his etching and drawings. His wife, Fanny Volmers, was a source for his artistic inspiration. Icart is known for his sensous and even erotic portrayal of women. 400/600 Sold $598.00 back to catalog |
