339. Antique Heriz Rug of Unusual Design

The central floral is a meandering geometric and floral designs on a red field with light and dark blue, salmon, ivory, light sage green and some brown. Rug has a wide navy boarder, flanked by thinner ivory boarders on either side. All borders have floral decorations. Sides in various shades of brown and appear to be in good condition. Measures apprx 10'6" x 7'5" and has cotton weft.

Heriz rugs are the most famous Persian Rug among the collector. Although the majority of Heriz rugs have a large single medallion that has eight edges, you can find same tribal patterns that are made in surrounding villages like Goravan.
