| 209. "Whizzer" Motorbike, C. 1947
A restored "Roadmaster" kit bike, model H, produced by the Cleveland Welding Company. This model was introduced in the summer of 1946. The Whizzer was started by Breene-Taylor, a small company in Los Angeles, manufacturing carburators and aircraft parts. They launched their bicycle engine in late 1939 and the Whizzer Model D. Schwinn became involved with Whizzer in late 1947 through a patent conflict with Cleveland Welding, however the association with Cleveland Welding pre-dates Schwinn. Red paint with black pin stripping, tank has three yellow decals. Total restoration in 2000 3,000/4,000 Sold $2,875.00 back to catalog |
