Henry James, The Ivory Tower London: W. Collins Sons & Co. 1917. First edition. Untrimmed in original dark blue cloth. Portrait frontispiece, gilt stamps. 347 pages; tissue-guarded, preface by Percy Lubbock and with the notes by Henry James. Book plate on interior of front end board reads "tel grain, tel pain, Liber Joseph Silkin." Signed by Jospeh Silkin on front end paper and dated the 12th of February, 1927.
Henry James, Embarrassments. London: William Heinemann 1896. Hardback first edition. 264 pp. plus 32 pp. catalogue. Blue cloth binding with gilt stamped spine. Front end board has impressed irises below title. Stamp also located on verso. Pages have deckled edges. Some writing in pencil appears on the end papers. English text. Measures apprx 5-1/2" x 8".
