Arts and crafts style tea set consists of five pewter pieces. Service includes tray, sugar, creamer, teapot and waste bowl. Each item is signed "Pairpoint Mfg. Co." on verso. Located in New Bedford, Massachusetts. Also stamped "Quadruple Plate." Tea service has pinched rim on all pieces, including tray. Tea pot has hinged lid. Tray measures apprx 14" in diameter. Teapot measures apprx 10" x 7". Creamer and sugar measure apprx 3" x 4". Waste container measures apprx 3" x 6".
Pairpoint Manufacturing Company, a small Britannia metal works, was established next door to the Mt. Washington glass company. In 1894 the two companies merged and the Mt. Washington Glass Company became consolidated with, controlled and operated by Pairpoint Mfg. Co. In 1900 Pairport was reorganized and called the Pairpoint Corporation.
