"Wired Cloud" by Canadian artist Steven Gauley, acrylic on canvas. Simple, flat wooden frame. Canvas signed and dated on verso. Canvas measures apprx 37" x 60". This painting is abstract and depicts black oval shapes bisected by straight lines. These lines are reminiscent of barbed wire. Floating between the lines is a fluffy pink/white cloud. The background is a somber gray with blue accents. Dated 1983.
Steven Gauley began to study painting and drawing at the Nova Scotia College of Art and Design under Eric Fishl. He also studied at the Banff School of Art in the late 1970's and early 1980's. One of Gauley's major works is entitled "John Lennon Died Tonight, Dec. 8, 1980." Gauley's work is featured in several public galleries throughout the United States and Canada.
