554. Set of Four Mercury Glass Vases, c. 19th Century
Mercury glass was originally considered the "poor man's silver" however in recent years it has become very collectible. Mercury glass was made by pouring a thin coat of silver between two layers of blown glass. The blown glass technique allowed the pieces to be made into a variety of shapes including candlesticks and vases. The glass has a unique depth and luster that is valuable to collectors. This collection includes two larger vases measuring apprx 9-1/4" H and 9-1/2" each and two small candlesticks apprx 4-3/4" T and 5-1/4" T each. Two have London stickers on verso from AMC.

555. An Ornate Cut Glass Centerpiece, c. 1910-20
Molded and cut glass footed bowl features a basket and "S" scroll design with floral and branch accents. Star medallion on verso of base. Hand work to rim and edge of footed base and to the play of light which makes this bowl unique. This piece is unsigned, but is reminiscent of Hawkes glassware. Measures apprx 3-1/2" H x 12-1/2" W.

This grouping includes an Orrefors signed crystal decanter, Venetian glass vase and modern art glass vase. Orrefors crystal decanter has a teardrop shaped body with stopper. Signed on verso. Measures appx 13" H x 4" W. Venetian glass vase is made from rainbow glass and has a unique flared design. Colors range from teal to green to red. Measures apprx 12" H x 4" W. Has sticker with an image of a gondola and "Venetian". A third vase has a tiered design. Glass is a translucent red and white. Measures apprx 10" H x 3" W.

557. Two Victorian Pieces & Ceramic Figure
The brides basket measures apprx 7-1/2" H x 9-1/2" W. This is a beautiful Webb glass insert of almost white glass graduating to a darker pink at the top, finished with a clear glass ruffled rim. Located in a silver plate stand with two long handles, standing on four detailed feet, verso marked "Wilcox Silverplate, 717 and quadruple plate". The vase is a light yellow, graduating to light amber at the ruffled top. It has delicate roses and leaves hand painted around the center. Signed on verso "Hand painted by R Delaney". Measures apprx 4-1/4" H x 5-1/4" W. Also included in this grouping is a small ceramic centaur-like creature with an angry expression, on a string, possibly Wedgewood. Measures apprx 6".
