466. Japy Freres Mantle Clock & Garniture Set, French c. late 19th Century
This French garniture has a gilded bronze base with a porcelain body. Body features a vignette of a young man proposing to a young lady. The front of the clock has roman numerals with a small cherub playing within. Flanking the timepiece are two small urns hand painted in bright blue and gold. A lantern is located at the top. Lantern has ornate scrolling arms. Clock measures apprx 18" H x 12" W. The movements within the clock are stamped with the name "Japy Freres & Co." Also stamped inside the movements is the medallion of honor. Accompanying the clock are two decorative sculptures. These feature an urn atop a gilded bronze base. Old Paris urns have additional vignettes of a mother with her child, and a woman teaching a child how to paint. These sculptural elements measure apprx 15" H x 7". W. Japy Freres was a well-known clock making company in France in the late 1800's.

468. Hand Painted Cast Horses, Late 19th Century
Probably white spelter, the horses are hand painted with great detail in hair and shadowing of muscle and face. A red painted harness has a free form strap attached at side with pin. The end of strap is jagged. Framed in contemporary shadow box case. Horses measure apprx 10" H x 12" W. Glass case measures apprx 17" H x 20" W.

Wooden box features a mother-of-pearl inlaid design with flowers and abstracted shapes. A vignette on the lid of this box depicts a scene of a house within a forest. Parts of the house are accented with the mother-of-pearl. Also hand-painted with some lightly applied gilt. The interior of box is lined with rich purple velvet. Verso of box has a scalloped edge. Hand hammered pewter ice bucket in the shape of a pumpkin. The removable lid is accented with applied leaves and stem, opening to reveal a hollow interior. Overall height is apprx 11" H x 13" W. Verso is marked "Made in Italy, Peltro 95, Amano" with the image of a lion.
