519. Embroidered Silk Panel

Beautifully embroidered silk panel features a branch from a bamboo tree. Situated along this branch are various exotic birds in vibrant shades of pink, green, red, yellow and blue. Panel is also embroidered with a water-lily filled pond. Mallard ducks swim in this pond and a peacock is located below. The focal point of this panel, however, is the large scale, exotic bird perched on the bamboo branch. This bird has been embroidered in brilliant shades of orange, white, brown, yellow, red and pink. In the upper right side of this panel a series of chinese characters have been embroidered in black thread. These letters are accented by a small red cartouche with chinese characters embroidered in red. Overall size of this panel is apprx 32" H x 63" W. Oriental-styled frame is silver and gold painted wood, with red accents.
