| 485. Seth Thomas Wall Clock, c. 1930-1968
Art deco style battery operated wall clock with wood face, brass arms and minute marks and gold painted numerals. Made by Seth Thomas Clocks. Verso marked with a small metal inventory tag. Circular clock measures apprx 15" in diameter. Seth Thomas was born in Wolcott, Connecticut in 1785 and went to work for clockmaker Eli Terry in 1807. He eventually took over the company and in 1930 a holding company named General Time Instruments Corporation was formed to unite Seth Thomas Clock Company with Western Clock Company. In 1968, General Time was bought by Talley Industries. 75/150 Sold $51.75 back to catalog |
