A small wool oriental is red throughout with four stylized borders in black, white and dark red. The central section has two rows of numerous medallions on either side of a central row of smaller medallions. This rug measures apprx 71" x 42". These characteristics all suggest that this rug is Gorgan. Gorgan rugs and carpets have looks and feel of rugs from Turkmen tribe with small medallions scattered throughout. The rugs and carpets from Gorgan are of excellent quality and high durability.
