| 472. Mother-of-Pearl Inlaid Box, c. 19th Century
Wooden box features a mother-of-pearl inlaid design with flowers and abstracted shapes. A vignette on the lid of this box depicts a scene of a house within a forest. Parts of the house are accented with the mother-of-pearl. Also hand-painted with some lightly applied gilt. The interior of box is lined with rich purple velvet. Verso of box has a scalloped edge. Underside is lined with black paper. This box measures apprx 6" H x 14" W. 150/200 Sold $212.75 back to catalog |
