191. Siegfried Rudolph Puchta, (German, 20th Century)

Miniscule bronze sculpture of a squirrel with an acorn by German artist Siggy Puchta. Signed "S. Puchta" in bronze. Sticker on verso reads "Siggy Puchta, 217/250". The base for this figurine is made from orange, black and white marble. This piece measures apprx 3" H x 3" W.

Born in Germany, Siggy Puchta came to Canada in 1953 at the age of nineteen. Son of a woodcarver, he took an early interest in the art of modeling and sculpturing. Committed to capturing the action and beauty of his subjects, he is driven to keep creating sculptures whether they are in wood, stone or bronze.
