456. Partial Transitional Coffee Service of Sterling Over Ceramic, c. Early 20th Century

This lot includes a coffee pot, a creamer, a sugar, and a lid. The lid does not appear to fit any of these pieces properly, although it will sit on the coffee pot. Pieces are ceramic with a lovely brown glaze and beautiful silver overlay in a transitional Art Nouveau/Art Deco design. On the Art Nouveau side is a monogram with the initials "LFA" in a stylized boarder and on the Art Deco side is straight lines intersecting at the center. Handles, rims and bases are all also silver overlay. With the exception of the lid, all are verso etched "8360" and stamped "493" at the base. All marks have been well polished over time. Sterling mark is not visible, but they do appear to be sterling. Measurements are: coffee pot, apprx 5" H x 9-1/2" from spout to handle, creamer, apprx. 4" H x 6-1/2" handle to handle, sugar, apprx 3-1/2" H x 5-1/2" from spout to handle, lid is apprx 3" diameter.
