592. Double Inkwell Standish Double inkwell has a scroll footed base. Attached to base is a crest with a crown and a fleur-de-lis. This crest is flanked by a pair of medieval dolphins with serpentine tails as pen holders. The two inkwells have white porcelain liners. Central container has a domed lid with a fleur-de-lis finial. 597. A Silvered & Gilt Bronze Barbedienne Letter Opener, Paris, C. 1873 An attractive letter opener inscribed "F. Barbedienne Paris" and "C. Sedid. Inv. 1873" at the base of blade, handle inscribed "D. Attarqe F." (sp). It is bronze with silver and gold detailing. Handle features Venus and Cupid on both sides; she is teasing him whilst under her arm. Her foot rests on the on bow and arrow. The other side depicts Cupid helping Venus with her dress. The blade features a goats head, flowers and pinecone with ribbon and a porpoise. Apprx 12-1/2" long. 400/600 Sold: $161.00 |

598. English Wooden Letter Box, Late 19th Century Wooden letter box was purchased at the Springfield Extravaganza in May 2003. This box features a compartment for filing letters, a glass and brass inkwell and a wooden pen with metal nib. Pen is marked "Made in England". Box features brass appointments and has working brass lock, with key. Sliding drawer is located near verso. Overall measures apprx 10-1/2" high x 11-1/2" wide. 200/300 Sold: $241.50 |

599. Cast Metal Tank Cast metal tank, possibly German has lid which can be twisted to reveal interior of tank. Interior is lined with blue satin. Overall repousse design on tank.
