Royal Doulton charger depicts a court scene and is stamped on verso "Royal Doulton, Old Moreton, Made in England. 1589". This piece measures apprx 13"D.

Pair of cups and saucers in a lovely red and royal blue floral pattern with gold highlights and bird details. Cups have gold handles. One cup and both saucers are marked Bloor Derby on verso. The other pair of tea cups are similar in color with the addition of some green and stylized handles. They are marked Spode 967 on verso. Saucers apprx 5-1/2" diam., cups apprx 2-1/2"h x 2-1/2" diam.

528. Grouping of Mortars & Pestles
This grouping of mortars and pestles contains three heavy stoneware mortars and two lighter porcelain mortars, four glass pestles and one porcelain pestle. Porcelain mortars are hand painted with flower and leaf designs. One mortar is marked "herbs". These pieces range in size from 1-3/4" H x 2-3/4" W to 4-1/4" H x 6-3/4" W. Mostly early American, although one is French.

529. Claude Conover (American, b. 1907)
"Kimak", pottery vase, square shape with soft rounded edges and protruding neck. Impressed with a stylized geometric patterns, overall brown colored, accents highlighted with a matte cream slip. Signed "Claude Conover" on bottom with title. Mr. Conover was the Ohio Arts Councils recipient of the Cleveland Arts Prize in 1983 and he was a member of the "Cleveland School" which was first used by Elrick Davis a 1928 article for the Cleveland Press, titled "Cleveland's Art Pioneers Have Put City in Front Rank in Creative Field.". This has the original plastic insert. Apprx 14" tall.

530. Walter A. Sinz (American, 1881-1966)
A Plaster sculpture of a King holding a scepter and book, reverse of base inscribed "W.A. Sinz '29". Plaster has applied pigment of bronze color. Sculpture wire sticking out of back. Sinz was also a member of the "Cleveland School". Sinz created the relief of a Native American carrying a canoe through the Portage, an eight mile passage between the Cuyahoga and Tuscarawas Rivers, located in Akron, Ohio. He was also selected in 1929 to design the Thompson Trophy for the National Air Races. Apprx 16-1/2" tall.
