1. An Asian-Indian Book Fragment, C.11th Century
"Pancaraska" book leaf from the Mahamayuri, one of the five formulae of the Pancaraksa or "Quintuple Protection". Center painted image of the Goddess with text in left and right margins. Strong colored pigment on linen, both of which have darkened over time. Two pierced areas at binding. Apprx 2-1/2" x 14-1/4". This was exhibited at the European Fine Arts Fair in Maastricht, Holland. Provenance: Sam Fogg, London, c.2000

2. German Copperplate Engraving, C. 15th-17th Century
This is a re-cutting of Martin Schongauer's "The Taking of Christ" was had been cancelled, c. 16th/ early 16th century and re-used. Lower margin has artist initials "S" for Schoengauer and "N" for the cutter. The reverse of this plate has a traditional painted Dutch marriage portrait. Please see the works on paper catagory for an original work by Martin Schongauer. Plate measures apprx 6-3/8" x 4-9/18".

3. Bering Sea Mask
A carved mask, probably of ivory, on a display stand. Mask has open carved rounded "eyes" and "mouth". Two deeply incised lines travel from the upper center of mask, down to a curved line over the mouth opening, creating three panels on the surface which has lightly incised decorations of circles and lines. Mask apprx 4-3/4" x 2-1/4", not including stand and base. Provenance: Royal Athena Galleries, New York.

4. Ghandara Statue, C. 3rd/4th Century A.D.
From the Buddhist Ghandara civilization, Ghandara is the name of an area located in India north-Westerner on current Pakistan and Afghanistan. A carved section of a wall frieze of gray stone with white patina. Apprx 26-3/4" H x 11-1/2" W x 4" D. Provenance: Ian Roper, c.1996.

5. Egyptian Mummy Shroud, C. Late Dynastic/Early Ptolmaic Period, C. 375-300 B.C.
A very large fragment of a painted shroud, with tempera painting and hieroglyphs in black ink. Four deities, including Anubis and Horus and two supplicants (?) face each other in vertically arranged pairs. Between the figures are three bands of expressively written hieroglyphs. Framed under plexi, shroud measures apprx 33" L x 10-1/2" at the widest part. Overall in frame apprx 38" x 15".

6. A Pair of American Indian Incised & Ochred Shell Gorgets, C. 19th Century
Each rounded shell is hand carved and has applied pigment to areas for definition. The first has a double dotted edge around the perimeter of shell, Center has a "V" shape, possibly a body with head, a circle with stem rising over shape, overall apprx 3" x 2-1/2". The second has two human forms and a single dotted border at perimeter, overall apprx 3-1/4" x 3". Overall black and clear lucite display apprx 6"H x 7"W x 2". Display has two brass threaded protrusions for shells display.
