224. Jose de Zamora (Spanish, 1899-1971)
An Art Deco enamel on copper plate, signed and framed. Horizontal plaque of a reclining woman on a yellow sofa, signed lower right and dated 1922. Titled lower left "Esmeltes Vinado". Apprx 8" x 11-7/8", overall with frame apprx 11-1/2" x 15-3/8". Black ebony frame has tear drop tabs at corners holding plaque.
Zamora designed for the Paris Music Hall during the height of its popularity and fame. He was one of the most famous illustrators of the day. His contemporaries included Erté, Alec Shanks, Freddy Wittop, Zig and Dany.

226. A Set of Four Stained Glass Panes, C. Early 19th Century
Each panel has a shield with a French coat of arms. Circular, each one has a border with rosettes, leaves, swirls at the sides and grotesques at the top and bottom. Imagery is stenciled and hand decorated, each panel measures apprx 17-1/2"D. These were removed from a Cleveland estate before it was demolished for the construction of the Cleveland Institute of Music.

From the same estate as the previous lot, this panel depicts a righteous young king standing left, holding orb with crowned lion in one hand and scepter in the other. Apprx 19-3/4" x 13-1/2". This was removed from a Cleveland estate before it was demolished for the construction of the Cleveland Institute of Music.

228. Exceptional Papier Mache & Mother of Pearl Sewing Cabinet
A fabulous black lacquer papier mache sewing table with exceptional mother of pearl and hand painted details. The top has a central bouquet of flowers of mother of pearl with gold painted highlights framed by cascading grape vines and bunches of grapes, also in mother of pearl with gold painted highlights. Top edge is scalloped and has another similar border. Body of the sewing table has similar decoration with mother of pearl and hand painted floral bouquets surrounded by bunches of grapes on either sides of all of the rounded corners. The bottom of the top portion is framed by a gold painted geometric band. The pedestal is reeded at the top, curving out at the bottom, ending on rectangular shaped base with four scalloped feet ending on brass castors. The interior of to sewing table is covered in lush red velvet. Apprx 32-1/2" x 17-1/2" 13". From a private collection in Paris.

229. Rococo Wooden Tea Caddy, C. Late 17th Century
Wooden tea caddy with rococo styled decoration on exterior. Exterior features griffins playing a harp with scrolling vines and leaves. Cherubs embrace on front and back sides. Caddy has two compartments for green and black tea. Also comes with key. Interior of lid is lined with red paper. Inlaid ivory diamond on lock. Unsigned this piece measures apprx 5" H x 7-1/2" W.

230. A Wooden Tea Caddy
A small rectangular box of walnut wood, with walnut wood edge banding on the top and on the front as a decorative detail, 3/4" wide, with a keyhole surrounded bya diamond shape inset of another dark wood. Interior has brass hinges, at least one replacement screw on one, two wood lidded compartments with carved bone handles, all lined with silver foil. Box measures apprx 9-1/4" wide x 5" deep x 4-3/4" high.

231. A Wood Humidor (19th/20th Century)
Rectangular shaped walnut wood box, 11-1/2" wide x 7-1/2" deep x 4-1/2" high. With brass nameplate in center of top, the initials "M E W" incised in plate. Brass hinges and lock, lacking the key. Interior is lined with white porcelain. Two vintage briar pipes accompany the lot.

232. A Faux Tortoise Shell Humidor
A rectangular box clad in faux tortoise shell material that has faded from brown to an unusual plum color. With brass fittings as details, brass shield on top and around keyhole. Lid raises to reveal honey colored wood interior with brass hinges and decorative gilt fittings. Interior has lidded section with brass label stamped "Tobacco" affixed to the lid. Interior of the section is lined with silver foil, lid and hinges have come loose. Below the tobacco compartment is a small drawer with a decorative brass pull, in front of which is a cigar-shaped groove in the wood base. Overall box measures apprx 6-1/2" x 6-1/2" x 9" high.

Casket style wooden jewelry box was originally purchased from an estate sale in summer, 2003. This box features a lovely inlaid bird design on lid with barberpole accents around outer edge. Rectangular mirror is inset into the interior of hinged lid. This piece measures apprx 6-1/2" H x 14" W.
