148. Hand-Colored Engraving of the "Vieux Port de Toulon"
Hand-colored French engraving depicts the Vieux Port de Toulon. This is a view of the various merchants who would sell their wares along the port. This engraving was made after a painting by J. Vernet, the court painter and sculptor. Engraving is from a series depicting the different ports in France. Plate size is apprx 18-1/2" H x 28-1/2" W. With hand-cut French overmat and frame this engraving measures apprx 32" H x 40-1/4" W. Engraving was commissioned by M. de Marquis de Marigny.
