| 223. Seth Thomas Ogee or O.G. Case Clock, Circa 1842 - 1845
A lovely ogee shelf clock with an off-white face with floral decorations in each corner over a reverse painted scene on glass depiction an impressive residence on a small lake. Early features of dial include tapered numerals 3, 4 and 8 and small dots for minute marks and small winding holes. The movement is marked "S. Thomas Plymouth, Conn., USA". Affixed to the interior is a certificate reading "Brass Clocks, made and sold by Seth Tomas, Plymouth Hollow, Conn., warranted good" followed by directions for use. The label also indicates it was printed by Elihu Geer, Hartford, Connecticut, no address given. This dates it to 1842 - 1845.
