Double sided leaf from an Indian manuscript. Such manuscripts contained the texts of the epics, the Puranas and Sthala Puranas. Hand-written, the script is encased in a hand-painted border. There are four columns of script are divided by three hand painted borders. These columns are intersected by a band of text in red ink. All remaining text is written in black ink. Diacritical dots indicate that this is a later manuscript leaf. Possibly written in the Urdu language in the Khat-e-Faarsi style. Leaf measures apprx 16" H x 9-3/4" W. Overall with mat this piece measures apprx 20" H x 16" W.
