| 529. Claude Conover (American, b. 1907)
"Kimak", pottery vase, square shape with soft rounded edges and protruding neck. Impressed with a stylized geometric patterns, overall brown colored, accents highlighted with a matte cream slip. Signed "Claude Conover" on bottom with title. Mr. Conover was the Ohio Arts Councils recipient of the Cleveland Arts Prize in 1983 and he was a member of the "Cleveland School" which was first used by Elrick Davis a 1928 article for the Cleveland Press, titled "Cleveland's Art Pioneers Have Put City in Front Rank in Creative Field.".
